Recent happenings...
Tommy will screen as part of Sydney Film Festival's travelling film festival next month (Newcastle- 11th May, Wollongong- 18th May). A documentary, Hunt Angels, about maverick Australian filmmaker Rupert Kathner will also screen at both sessions. Tommy will screen at the San Diego Intl Children's Film Festival and Hamburg Short Film Festival in coming months. Tommy at Tribeca !
Tommy the Kid will screen at the 2007 Tribeca Film Festival in New York, USA. The TriBeCa Film Festival was founded in 2002 by Jane Rosenthal and Robert De Niro in a response to the September 11, 2001 attacks on the World Trade Center and the consequent loss of vitality in the TriBeCa neighborhood in Manhattan. The mission of the film festival is "to enable the international film community and the general public to experience the power of film by redefining the film festival experience." The Tribeca Film Festival was founded to celebrate New York City as a major filmmaking center and to contribute to the long-term recovery of lower Manhattan. The people of Mudgee have spoken...
Tommy picked up the People's Choice Award at the Elliot Rocke Mudfest Film Festival last Saturday night. Due to rain, the event was moved from the winery to a local theatre but it was still a great night. Almost 800 people crammed into the venue and Tommy was a hit with the locals! Ca-na-duh
Tommy has been selected for a couple of Canadian Film Festivals. The film will screen at OzFlix in Toronto (Feb), Vancouver (March) and Calgary (April). OzFlix is an initative of the Australian Trade Commission and showcase Australian feature and short films. Tommy will also screen at a different Canadian fest, the Reel to Real Film Festival in Vancouver in Feb/Mar 2007. The In the Bin Festival Touring Festival kicks off next month. Tommy and a stack of other shorts are on their way to the following Australian country towns- Hillston, Hay, Balranald, Coleambally, Finley, Barham, Jerilderie, Deniliquin, Tumut, Inglewood, Kingaroy, Moama, Charters Towers, Winton, Dysart, Middlemount, Blackwater and...
